در زمینه موسیقی Rock   می توان  از ZZ Top  و Bon Jovi  یاد کرد.  بروس اسپرینگ استین هم از انزوا در آمده بود و تور "زاده آمریکا" را شروع کرده بود. بروس در آن زمان در اجرای آلبوم "رقص در تاریکی" با یک دختر دبیرستانی رقصید. این دختر امروز همان هنرپیشه معروف کورتنی کاکس است.
